Danish brewing group Carlsberg has revealed that its eponymous lager brand was the fastest growing international beer brand in the world for the second year in a row, according to market research company Canadean.
Canadean defines international brand growth as the brand’s total volume minus volume in its home market. Average growth for international brands is around 3.5 per year.
Carlsberg increased its sales by 11.5 per cent, or one million hectoliters, in 2003. Carlsberg said it is now the third largest beer brand in the world.
