Manager at Bank of Valletta’s San Gwann branch, Julian Baldacchino, and Ruth Genovese who, during this year, formed part of the team at BOV’s Mellieha branch, are the BOV Branch Manager and Branch Employee of the Year respectively.

BOV’s chief operations officer, Igino Xuereb, announced the winners of these two annual awards during the BOV annual managers’ conference held earlier on this month.

His peers have described Mr Baldacchino as a committed and exemplary manager whose customer orientation, leadership and team-building skills have earned him this award.

Ms Genovese’s superiors have expressed their satisfaction at her winning this award and said that her total commitment towards the bank, her professionalism, ambition to always better herself, and outstanding performance are definitely qualities that merit the Branch Employee of the Year Award.

Following the announcement, BOV chairman Roderick Chalmers and BOV’s CEO Tonio Depasquale presented the winners with a handmade glass trophy, as well as an award shield on which their name is engraved.

Mr Chalmers thanked and congratulated Mr Baldacchino and Ms Genovese for their commitment and the valid contribution they have given to Bank of Valletta over the past year.

Mr Chalmers commented on how BOV encourages the personal development of its employees and is committed to create opportunities based on performance.

He stated that these awards show that BOV treasures creativity and initiative and rewards employees who distinguish themselves.
