Middlesea Insurance recently gave a donation to Nature Trust to support its Marine Rescue Team.

Middlesea Insurance general manager Joseph M. Rizzo presented the sponsorship cheque to Nature Trust president Vincent Attard..

Speaking during the presentation, Mr Rizzo pointed out that the protection of the marine environment is a priority for Middlesea Insurance.

“The company’s promotional material depicts marine species in a bid to increase awareness on the importance of safeguarding Mediterranean marine life,” Mr Rizzo said.

The sponsorship will help the Marine Rescue Team buy much-needed items such as dissection kits, sample bottles, waders, masks, first aid kits and gloves.

Thanking Middlesea insurance for the sponsorship, Mr Attard explained that the items are essential for the safety of personnel dealing with rescue.

“Since dolphins are mammals, diseases can be transferred to humans. For this reason, certain items are required to ensure that necessary precautions are taken during rescue operations,” Mr Attard added.
