The General Workers’ Union has registered a rise in the number of new members recently. These include the majority of Veritas Press employees.

In a statement released yesterday, the GWU said Veritas Press employees have been organised within the Chemical Energy and Printing section of the union and in the next few days a meeting will be held for them to appoint their representatives at the work place.

After this development, sector secretary Gejtu Mercieca wrote to Veritas Press general manager John Mifsud to tell him that the majority of the company’s employees are being represented by the GWU. Mr Mercieca also asked for an introductory meeting.
