Megabyte and Oracle ECE have celebrated 15 years of working together in Malta.
During a short ceremony held at Megabyte’s operation centre at Mosta Technopark, Alfonso Di Ianni, Senior Vice President, European Enlargement and CIS Region, Oracle, acknowledged important milestones in Megabyte’s history as well as the on-going relationship, and presented an elegant brass plate marking the occasion to Karm Galea, founder director of the company.
In a short speech, Mr Di Ianni thanked Megabyte for the hard work it has put in over the years to promote and establish Oracle’s products and services in Malta and looks forward to even stronger relations in the coming years. Mr Di Ianni said “Oracle is truly impressed with Megabyte’s efforts to build solutions using Oracle products and services as well as the delivery of consulting and technical support on Oracle Technology.”
He added, that “....in setting up a local Oracle office with a business development manager in Malta, Oracle recognises the importance of Malta’s role in Europe”.
Mr Galea, who introduced Oracle to Malta, said the Oracle-Megabyte partnership is a success story in the history of IT in Malta. Indeed, against tough competition, Megabyte managed to introduce Oracle Technology in various private and public organisations and also implemented several Oracle based applications in a number of business sectors.
Moreover, besides having trained a good number of its staff in different areas of Oracle Technology and Applications, Megabyte has also set up an Oracle skills training centre after being qualified by Oracle as a Certified Education Partner.
Also present for the occasion were John Ambrogio, general manager, and James Forte, manager – Software Services at Megabyte.
