Stainless Steel Products Ltd, the Malta investment of Astracast, the world-renowned kitchen sink and tap manufacturers, have appointed Joseph Delia, BA (Hons)(Econ), FCIPD, as chief executive officer of the company with effect from 1 March.

Mr Delia has an accomplished career in Management and Organisation Development, Strategic Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, and Manufacturing Management, with a track record of active involvement in the initial phases of the Employment and Training Corporation, the Foundation for Human Resources Development, and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority.

He set up the Human Resources Department of Dowty (Malta) Ltd and of the Gasan Group of Companies. He was president of the Malta Employers' Association, participated in a number of international workshops on management issues and is a member of European Union Bodies, his latest activity having been that of being the first from the new member countries to chair a workshop during the 2004 summit session of the European Health and Safety Week in Bilbao.

Mr Delia is a Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
