Model Expo – A Passage in History

Bank of Valletta is sponsoring History in Scale 05, a scale modelling expo organised by the Society for Scale Modellers. This year’s expo is centered around the 60th anniversary of Victory In Europe (VE) Day 1945, the Bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805 and the 440th Anniversary of the Siege of Malta, 1565.

History in Scale 05 is a gallery of highly detailed and superbly finished scale models of military aircraft, armoured vehicles, ships, figurines, dioramas and civil vehicles organised by the Society of Scale Modellers. Every exhibit will have taken the member of the society months of research, construction and detailed paintwork to achieve the desired quality.

Speaking during the presentation, BOV Head of Public Relations, Michael Galea said, “Bank of Valletta is delighted to support this exhibition. Scale Modelling can be considered as another expression of art that is both unique and original. This exhibition will also have an educational content since it focuses on an aspect of European history”.

“All these elements make Bank of Valletta proud to be associated with this Expo, which has become an annual event and attracts a large number of enthusiasts,” he continued.

The Society of Scale Modellers members’ masterpieces have gained recognition in world-wide events and members from of the society have won top awards in prestigious expos in the UK, Italy and Greece.
