Archbishop Joseph Mercieca, Gozo bishop Nikol Cauchi and auxiliary bishop Annetto Depasquale have sent a letter of condolences on the occasion of the death of His Holiness Pope John Paul II.

In their letter to His Eminence Cardinal Eduardo Martinez Somalo, chamberlain of the Holy Roman Church, the chiefs of the Maltese Church said: “The bishops of Malta and Gozo, who are thankful to the Lord for Pope John Paul II who always promoted the value of truth and unity among the people of the world, express their deep sorrow at the death of His Holiness and offer their prayers to his memory.”
