The Nationalist Party Youth section has expressed its sorrow following the death of His Holiness Pope John Paul II.

In a statement, the MZPN said the late Pope paid special attention to young people and during his papacy gave youth the opportunity to express themselves and show their abilities. He had also thanked the young people who continued to pray for him and sing under his apartment window in the last moments of his life.

The MZPN said the Pope was a man of great faith whose courage encouraged people to combat the difficulties they face in their daily lives. The section appealed to youths to be active and work to put into the practice the values preached by the Pope.
