World-leading “meeting hotels” provider HelmsBriscoe held its first ever international symposium outside the USA as guests of Corinthia Hotels International’s newly crowned “Best Five-Star Hotel in Budapest”, the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal.

During the four-day event, Corinthia Hotels International showcased its top MICE hotels in Europe and the Mediterranean region, including those in Czech Republic, Hungary, Libya, Portugal and Russia. Upscale Corinthia hotels in these countries form part of the Events@Corinthia portfolio, a dedicated MICE brand featuring CHI hotels that excel in a set of service promises created to guarantee “Success Full” and “Stress Free” conferences.

Founded in 1992, now with close to 600 associates in 26 countries worldwide and offering over 22,000 hotels to its more than 8,000 contented clients, HelmsBriscoe provides a unique match-making service that researches and selects the most suitable conference venues worldwide at the best possible terms to meet their clients’ specific requirements.

Apart from discussions on its internal agenda, and meetings with CHI officials, HelmsBriscoe executives were joined by company founders Roger Helms and Bill Briscoe on a sightseeing tour of Budapest’s innumerable charms, with a lunch stop at the famous Karpatia restaurant. The well-organised programme of events was put together by the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal with the help of destination management companies Microcosmos and Liberty Congresses & Incentives. Leading caterers Zatisi provided the farewell dinner, which was also attended by CHI chief operating officer David Woodward.

Asked for his comments, HelmsBriscoe managing director Pat Durocher said: “Thanks to Corinthia Hotels International and its fabulous ‘Royal’ and ‘Aquincum’ hotels, our first joint meeting was a memorable experience that we will never forget. The guestrooms were beautiful, the service superb and the food and service quite phenomenal”

For its part, CHI was very pleased to have been able to host the event, and sales and marketing group director Geoff Andrew said: “Becoming partners with HelmsBriscoe last year has helped us tremendously in accessing new clients and new markets.

“It has been an association of our top quality MICE venues and their extensive international network, and we were therefore glad to have had the occasion to demonstrate to such a knowledgeable gathering that our professed ‘Warmth, Colour and Vitality’ experience is very much a reality that is becoming a Trade benchmark worldwide”.
