Frost & Sullivan Honours HP

Malta Independent Monday, 9 May 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Frost and Sullivan presented HP with the 2004 Business Development Strategy Leadership Award in the identity and access management market. Superior market growth skills have helped position the company as one of the major suite vendors in the industry.

HP’s identity management solutions enable secure access to network services without manual provisioning and account maintenance, and provide web single sign-on and cross-domain identity management. HP OpenView Select Access and OpenView Select Identity software, acquired from Baltimore Technologies and TruLogica respectively, are the cornerstones to HP’s identity management suite.

“These acquisitions have underlined HP’s reputation as a suite vendor with a comprehensive offering, which has entered the market at a time when suite vendors are still defining their product offerings and working on integration issues,” notes Frost and Sullivan senior industry analyst Jose Lopez.

As the expanding identity and access management market undergoes rapid consolidation, the competitive situation has become fluid with small point solution vendors finding it increasingly difficult to compete.

Against this backdrop, HP has maintained a strong competitive profile, placing it on the path to market leadership.

“HP’s incisive business development strategies have provided a platform for the company to become one of the leading suite vendors in this market in the medium term,” says Mr Lopez.

“This award recognises HP’s successful strategy that has helped the company overcome the risk being left out of this rapidly growing market and establish a strong presence therein.”

“We are honoured to receive an award that recognises HP’s dedication to becoming a leader in identity and access management,” stated Todd DeLaughter, vice president and general manager, Management Software Business, HP. “HP offers a service-oriented approach that can easily and rapidly map existing business processes to identity management processes, enabling enterprises to run IT like a business, which is the goal of our adaptive enterprise strategy.”
