Bank of Valletta has donated a number of Playstation consoles to the Daniel Delicata Foundation. These will be placed in the Fairyland Ward at St Luke’s Hospital to be used by children undergoing treatment at this ward.

Mario Grima, executive head of Bancassurance at BOV, presented the Playstation consoles to Stephen and Maria Delicata, founders of the Daniel Delicata Memorial Association.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr Grima said, “When we launched our Lifelink campaign earlier on this year, we wanted to make a link to a worthy cause. Life assurance is all about investing in one’s future and also planning for retirement.

By donating Lm1 for each Lifelink policy taken up during the campaign period, BOV is today in a position to make this presentation to the Daniel Delicata Foundation.

We hope that these Playstation consoles will be helpful to support children emotionally during difficult times,” concluded Mr Grima.

Thanking Bank of Valletta for its donations, Mr Delicata said, “The Daniel Delicata Foundation’s primary goal is to improve the quality of life for sick children in State hospitals. It is inspired by the plight of young children who just like Daniel needed to spend time in one of the pediatric wards in Malta’s State hospitals.

“While the hospitals’ medical facilities and dedication of the staff are certainly not lacking, the environment does miss many of those, often small but important, things that can make

the stay of its little occupants so much more pleasant.

“After all, sick children need more than just good medical care and attention. They also need entertainment, activity and comfort.”
