Maltese multi-percussionist Renzo Spiteri has been endorsed by world-renowned brand of percussion instruments, Toca Percussion. This endorsement marks yet another important milestone in Mr Spiteri’s musical career and coincides with the release of his solo album entitled This Is My Language.

Toca Percussion, represented locally by Olimpus Music in Msida, endorses international artistes to the likes of soloist extraordinaire Evelyn Glennie, Jack DeJohnette, Pete Escovedo (who performs with Santana), Ernesttico (percussion player with Jovanotti), Billy Cobham, Sheila E. and many others.

“It is an honour for a percussionist to be endorsed by a leading percussion brand like Toca Percussion”, commented Renzo Spiteri. “After so many years of hard work as a freelance independent artiste and total dedication to my profession, it is a great satisfaction for me to receive such recognition and support at an international level.”

Toca Percussion international marketing and sales representative Michael S. Feinberg believes that “(Renzo Spiteri) will be a great ambassador for Toca and percussion in general.”

This affirmation was also expressed by Olimpus Music director Joe Piscopo, who added: “This endorsement strengthens the long-standing collaboration between Olimpus Music and Renzo Spiteri. Locally, Renzo Spiteri is an authority in the field of percussion and I am confident this collaboration will place Toca Percussion at the forefront and establish the brand as market leader in percussion instruments in Malta.”

Renzo Spiteri has travelled extensively in recent months, presenting his own works for percussion and collaborating with foreign composers and musicians in various festivals and concerts across Europe.

His solo album This Is My Language is the result of his critically acclaimed solo percussion concert, first presented at St James Cavalier and re-proposed in North Ireland and Hungary. It has also been featured on BBC music stations and as featured music in art exhibitions in Tokyo and Florence.

The solo album was recorded at Wave Studios, and is available for sale at Olimpus Music (The Emporium, Level 3, St Louis Street, Msida). More information about the endorsement and the solo album may be found at Renzo Spiteri’s official website, www.renzospiteri.com.
