Song And dance for charity

Malta Independent Tuesday, 31 May 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

On Saturday, a group of individual musicians and dancers will be getting together at the Marsa Sports Grounds with a common aim in mind – that of raising awareness and collecting funds for the Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group. The music and dance event will feature a number of performances from up and coming artists, as well as some familiar faces.

The event will begin with two different dance presentations: a Rap routine from Sonic Dancers and a Jazz routine from Natasha Coppini and Francesca Falzon. These will be followed by singer/songwriter Ailas, one of the event’s main organisers, who will take the stage to perform a live set that will include several of the songs he is currently recording for his new album.

Ailas will be accompanied by bassist Peter Spiteri, percussionist Fish and guitarist Snake, from leading Maltese rock band Winter Moods. The event will be rounded off with a DJ set from Fish accompanied by Ailas on guitar. Doors will open at 8.30pm and admission is free, although donations will be accepted throughout the evening.
