Bank of Valletta announced that it has been authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority to offer trustee services in terms of the Trusts and Trustees Act.

The Trust, being a highly flexible arrangement, can provide a wide variety of solutions to affluent individuals for estate planning, asset protection, as a will substitute, protection of family members and preserving family wealth. Besides, commercial entities can use the Trust as a flexible tool

for restructuring their financing requirements.

During a short presentation Tonio Depasquale, chief executive officer, met the members of the bank’s Trusts Committee, Peter Perotti, Victor Zammit, Maria Elena Gatt Floridia, Steven Schranz and Dr Andrew Chetcuti Ganado. The officials have extensive experience across different areas of the bank and have been authorised by the MFSA to fulfil the role of Trust Managers.

Moreover, managers within the bank’s Wealth Management office hold a certificate in Trust Law and Administration issued by the Institute of the Financial Service Practitioners of Malta and various members from this unit have attended specialised overseas courses and seminars.

Mr Depasquale said: “Trust services will complement the range of services available to Maltese and international clients from the bank’s Wealth Management unit. Bank of Valletta is able to provide the full range of services in relation to the establishment and administration of trusts.

With BOV as trustee, the customer will have the comfort of knowing that the trust is supported by the resources of the Bank of Valletta group. The customer has the convenience of a one stop shop offering Trustee, Banking and Investment Services.
