Malta Independent Sunday, 5 June 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Local photographer Guido Bonett of Naxxar, an active member of the Malta Photographic Society, has recently been awarded the Associateship of The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.

The Royal Photographic Society, founded in 1853, is the most prestigious international photographic society. In order to gain a distinction a photographer has to submit a portfolio for approval by a highly qualified panel of society fellows or hold one of the acceptable photographic qualifications.

Mr Bonett has been successful in satisfying the judges with his portfolio depicting his favourite theme that of Maltese natural subjects, mainly flora and fauna. He will shortly be receiving his certificate during an activity organised by the Malta Photographic Society.

When contacted, Mr Bonett said he would like to thank Carmel H. Psaila Hon. FMPS, ARPS, president of the Malta Photographic Society and Joseph A. Vella Hon. FMPS, FRPS, for their support and help in his quest for the ARPS.

Photographers interested in joining the Malta Photographic Society should contact the society at 137, Old Bakery Street, Valletta.

The Royal Photographic Society can be contacted at Fenton House, 122, Wells Road, Bath BA2 3AH, UK.
