Mgarr
The Malta Transport Authority notifies that due to road works financed by the Fifth Italo Maltese Financial Protocol along Mgarr Road (Triq il-Latnija and Triq il-Haddedin) the following traffic management scheme is being implemented:
Vehicular traffic travelling from Mosta towards Mgarr from Tal-Qlejja roundabout junction will proceed through Mgarr Road and will be diverted to Triq il-Haddedin and onto Triq iz-Zebbiegh, Mgarr.
Vehicular traffic travelling in the direction Mgarr towards Mosta will proceed through Mgarr Road and be diverted to Triq il-Latnija onto Triq Burmarrad (Targa Gap), Mosta.
Public transport travelling in the direction from Mgarr to Valletta will not be affected.
Public transport travelling in the direction from Valletta to Mgarr:
Route 47 will not be affected.
Route 52 will be diverted from Independence Avenue, Mosta, through Main Street, Constitution Street, Burmarrad Road, Mosta Road, St Paul’s Street, St Paul’s Bay, Parades Road, St Paul’s Street, Xemxija roundabout, road leading to Golden Bay, through Manikata and through road leading to Mgarr.
Heavy vehicles travelling in the direction of Mgarr, will proceed from Independence Avenue, Mosta, through Main Street, Constitution Street, Burmarrad Road, Mosta Road, St Paul’s Street, St Paul’s Bay, Parades Road, St Paul’s Street, Xemxija roundabout, road leading to Golden Bay, through Manikata and through road leading to Mgarr.
Road works are expected to be completed by 31 August.
Qormi-Luqa
The Malta Transport Authority notifies that due to road works financed by the Fifth Italo- Maltese Financial Protocol along Qormi Road and St Thomas Road, Luqa, the following roads will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic:
Luqa Road, Qormi (closed to two-way traffic except for access by residents);
Part of St Thomas Road and Luqa Road, Luqa (closed from Qormi to Luqa);
Imgieret Road (which will be open to one-way traffic travelling in the direction from Luqa to Qormi, except for access to Imgieret Hospital and Agriculture Department).
Vehicular Traffic from Aviation Avenue and Kunsill ta’ l-Ewropa travelling in the direction of Qormi will be diverted to St Thomas Road and Luqa Road, which will be one-way from Luqa to Qormi.
Traffic from Mdina Road, Qormi, and the road along Horse Racing Track, Qormi, will be diverted to Aldo Moro Road, Marsa.
Public transport from Luqa to Qormi will be unaffected.
Route 35 from Qrendi towards Valletta will be unaffected.
Route 35 from Valletta to Luqa/Mqabba and Qrendi will leave Valletta bus terminus and operate through Marsa, Turkish Cemetery, St Vincent de Paule, Luqa Road (Andrews Feeds), Luqa Square, Dinitrol roundabout, Mqabba and Qrendi.
Commuters wishing to visit Water Services Corporation and Hal Farrugg Housing Estate will have to disembark in the vicinity of the Old Airport Terminal and are being requested to use the same ticket to board any bus coming from Qrendi travelling in the direction of St Vincent de Paule Hospital and Valletta.
The works are expected to be completed by 31 August.
Mtarfa Bypass
The Malta Transport Authority notifies that civil works along Mtarfa Bypass start tomorrow. Vehicular traffic travelling in the direction of Rabat will be diverted through part of Old Railway Bridge and through Mtarfa Road. Traffic from Rabat will be unaffected.
New Pinto Road
The Malta Transport Authority notifies that parts of New Pinto Road, Floriana (the lane in the direction towards Marsa) will be closed to vehicular traffic on 20, 21 and 22 June.
Pinto Road will be open to two-way traffic for the duration of the works.
