Lombard Bank has recently purchased the Frederick Street wing of Palazzo Spinola (near Romano Carapecchia).
A thesis exhibition by final year students of urban design within the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the University of Malta will be hosted at this Palazzo together with an exhibition on Romano Carapecchia’s involvement with the building.
The opening of the exhibition will take place at 9, Frederick Street, Valletta, on Thursday at 1pm.. Professor Denis De Lucca and Architect Paul Camilleri will give a brief overview of the historical background as well as the restoration plans for this building. It is also planned to hold an ‘Open Day’ to allow interested parties to view the plans that the Bank has for the restoration of this magnificent baroque palace.
Rural Affairs and the Environment Minister George Pullicino as well as Resources and Infrastructure Minister Ninu Zammit will be attending the opening of the exhibition.
