Malta Independent Monday, 27 June 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

HSBC Bank Malta plc announced the launch of its new trust services, enabling customers to benefit from the recent amendments made to the trust legislation in Malta.

Trusts by their nature are confidential but provide a flexible legal instrument that can be used by individuals and commercial entities for a variety of purposes, such as inheritance and estate planning, portfolio and asset management, and commercial and corporate restructuring. Emmanuel Magri and Jan Sammut, will lead the new trust services team, as its two senior officials qualified to act as trust representatives for HSBC Bank. Both have extensive careers in HSBC and are authorised by the MFSA to discharge the role of trust managers.

“HSBC has added yet another high quality service to its comprehensive financial services spectrum, making HSBC a truly one stop shop for banking, investment, insurance, stockbroking and trusteeship. By its very nature, the establishment of trusts demands the strictest confidentiality and customers know that in HSBC they have a partner with the very highest ethical standards and access to experience, knowledge and expertise from across the world,” said HSBC’s head of Personal Financial Services, Mr John Hackett.

Details on HSBC’s trust services are available at any HSBC branch or from the bank’s customer service on 2380 2380. Information will soon be available through HSBC Malta’s personal internet banking site at www.hsbc.com.mt.
