The Malta Institute of Management recently held its 2005 Maastricht School of Management Outreach Programme graduation ceremony at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta. Seventeen students graduated Master of Business Administration in General and Strategic Management and 28 students graduated Diploma in General Management.
The degrees and diplomas were conferred on the graduating students by Professor Fred Phillips, Associate Dean of the Maastricht School of Management.
The ceremony marked the culmination of two years’ of intensive study for all graduates and the beginning of new career opportunities within the emergent profession of management.
In his address to those present, Joe Zammit, president of the Malta Institute of Management, highlighted the strong relationship that has been built between the Institute and the Maastricht School of Management throughout the last 10 years that the institute has been running the doctorate, masters and diploma outreach programmes of the Maastricht School of Management.
Over the last 10 years, three students have graduated Doctor of Business Administration, over 140 have graduated Master of Business Administration and over 130 have graduated with a Diploma in General Management.
The duties of master of ceremonies were conducted by Dr Silvio Debono who is himself a Doctoral graduate in Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management. Mr Karl Farrugia Wismayer as president of the Maastricht School of Management Malta Alumni Association, also delivered an address to mark this occasion and to welcome all graduating students as new members within the association.
The students who graduated in Masters in Business Administration in General and Strategic Management were Marie Avellino, Orlando Bonnici, Elaine Borg, Paolo Bugeja, Joseph P. Bugelli, Matthew Camilleri, Neville Camilleri, Anton Cilia, Adrian Fenech, Birgit-Elizabeth Friedrich, David Gherxi, Noel M. Grech, Mario Hili, Denis A. Micallef, Michael Hans L. Mier, Martin Pirotta and Valarie Valent James.
The students who graduated with a Diploma in General Management were Marthese Azzopardi, Maronia Azzopardi, Mark Bondin, Alison Bugeja, Brigitte Angele Busuttil, David Buttigieg, Leon Caruana, Audrey Cassar, Stephen Chetcuti Bonavita, David Darmanin, Joseph Matthew Debono, John Peter Farrugia, Ritienne Fenech, Peter Frendo, Brian Galea, Emanuel Gatt, Maria Kotchneva, Paul Magri, Vivienne Mallia, Elaine Mifsud, Godwin Migneco, William Azzopardi, Maria Pace, Therese Piscopo, Matthew Portelli, Luisa Rizzo, Julian Scicluna and Mark Vella Pace.
The next MBA and diploma programmes are scheduled to commence next October and registrations for these courses are now being received on a first come first served basis.
