Kellogg’s Sponsors 60th anniversary activities of St John Ambulance Paola-Tarxien division

Kellogg’s was one of the sponsors of an activity organised by St John Ambulance to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Paola-Tarxien Division. The aim of this event, which was open to the public, was mainly to promote a healthy lifestyle but it was also an occasion for the general public to become aware of the useful service provided by St John Ambulance.

The event started with mass celebrated at the Paola parish church and was followed by several activities under a large tent at Paola Square. Activities included first aid, rescue and safety demonstrations. At the same time, all those present could benefit from free-of-charge check-ups performed by a medical team of doctors and nurses.

A variety of Kellogg’s cereal bars were distributed to all those present. This variety included the new All-Bran cereal bars which are available in a pack of 6 bars with a natural or apple flavour. These bars contain 19g of fibre for each 100g and this amount makes up 25 per cent of the recommended daily allowance of fibre needs. Apart from having a great taste, these cereal bars are rich in fibre as well as vitamins and are low in fat thus ideal for ones’ inner health.

“When the decision was taken to open a branch of St John Ambulance in the Paola Area, I am sure nobody ever thought that it would last so long. The Paola-Tarxien Division’s superintendents, officers and members work hard to provide a continuous and efficient first aid and nursing service for the benefit of the general public. I wish it many more years of success. On behalf of all the St John Ambulance members, I would like to thank all the sponsors, especially Kellogg’s, who made these celebrations possible,” said Mrs Gemma Sirol C.St.J Commissioner (First Aid & Nursing).

St John Ambulance is composed of members who, as voluntary workers, devote their spare time to provide first aid as well as patient care for the injured and sick. By joining the organisation, members bind themselves to work together in a spirit of chivalry and in the interests of the Most Venerable Order of St John of Jerusalem. Activities at which St John Ambulance offers its services vary from mass activities such as cultural events and concerts, to sports and beach duties during the summer.
