Multiplus Commences official operations

Malta Independent Wednesday, 6 July 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Multiplus officially started its commercial transmission operations of Digital Terrestrial Television on Friday. Since its official launch on the market, Multiplus has been registering a steady increase in subscribers whose response to its attractive offers and services has been extremely positive and overwhelming.

“The positive feedback that has been reaching us during the past couple of months since we announced our intention to start operating in the market, was confirmed during these first few days of the Trade Fair, from the significant amount of customers that have approached our stand to inquire and apply for our products,” said Multiplus chief executive Jan Spiteri.

“The public’s positive response to our product offer also owes to the fact that we have committed ourselves to deliver a high level and value for money product, a commitment that has been honoured right from the very start of our operations. We are offering a true and valid alternative service to the Maltese market and the market is rewarding us back with this fantastic and positive reaction,” added Dr Spiteri.

Dr Spiteri also attributed this growing popularity to the set of special and attractive offers that Multiplus has just announced in conjunction with its first participation in this year’s International Trade Fair in Naxxar. Through the first offer, subscribers to the SILVER+ Package which costs Lm5 per month will be given a FREE subscription to the Serie A package in order to start enjoying a minimum of three LIVE Serie A matches every weekend for the upcoming football season 2005/2006.

The second attractive incentive is an offer whereby new subscribers may choose to pay a deposit of Lm37 on their digital set top box and pay the remaining Lm50 in monthly installments of Lm1 or else, benefit from a one-time discounted payment of Lm67. This forms part of Multiplus’ recently announced special pre-launch offer whereby the reduced rate of Lm67 (instead of Lm87) for the Multiplus set-top-box decoder has been extended until the end of the Trade Fair.

Multiplus Network incurs a minimal cost of Lm 12 per year or a one-off fee of Lm84. Once on the network, people can enjoy the TV and enhanced services available on the network as well as the interactive services that will be developed in due course. With regard to the TV services anyone on the network will have automatic access to the Free+ package of channels and will then have the option to subscribe to the pay TV services against regular monthly subscriptions or simply pay for the content they wish to view “on-demand”, such as pay-per-view.

Multiplus technicians will deliver the set-top-box and test your existing antenna at no extra cost. Should the antenna not be adequate, Multiplus is also offering installation services and a new small antenna at a nominal cost.

People who wish to start enjoying their favourite TV channels in digital quality and benefit from the advantageous offers being made available by Multiplus, are invited to visit them at the Trade Fair in Naxxar on stand number 80B or by registering on the company’s website at www.multiplus.com.mt.
