Fidelity International has been confirmed as Best Pan-European Investment Manager, in the 2005 Thomson Extel Survey. This marks the fifth year running that Fidelity has gained this award.
The Thomson Extel Survey is a measure of the research and execution capabilities of the leading European investment and brokerage firms. The survey – the largest of its kind in the world – reflects the contribution of over 7,000 professionals from 1,167 buy-side firms, 1,400 analysts from 159 brokerage firms. In addition, 464 of Europe’s largest quoted companies also participated in this comprehensive survey.
Steve Kowal, director of international business development, said: “Fidelity is delighted to win this award for the fifth year, in what is the most comprehensive Thomson Extel Survey ever. Among all the awards Fidelity wins for investment performance or customer service, those we win for our research capability are really prized – because research is the engine which underpins everything else we do.”
He continued: “Fidelity has made a major investment in our ability to undertake first-hand research, at all levels of an organisation, in order to consistently identify suitable investment opportunities for our investors. We are proud to have received such an overwhelming acknowledgement of our research process and capability by our peers, and we hope this award will re-affirm the choice that our distribution-partners and customers have made.”
Fidelity International has investment management activities based out of London, Bermuda, Paris, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Taipei. This presence across the world’s key investment centres ensures that Fidelity’s investment analysts truly penetrate the business, economic, political and social landscapes in each region. In addition, Fidelity International has access to the analysis carried out by Fidelity Management and Research in the US. The product of these extensive research capabilities gives Fidelity the ability to leverage the efforts of over 600 investment professionals around the world, who collectively cover 95 per cent of world stockmarket capitalisation.
