From Scotland To Valletta

Malta Independent Saturday, 16 July 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Two Scottish and two Maltese performers bring charm from Edinburgh and Valletta to St James Cavalier on 23 and 24 of July at 8pm. This first collaborative theatre project between Malta and Scotland, entitled Most of all, absurdly deals with the difficulty of defining who we are.

The characters crave pastizzi and deep fried mars bars. They can pronounce dqiq to perfection. They long to meet a monster and sweaty dark men. However this is not enough. Most of all they seek a deeper meaning beyond the walls of Edinburgh and Valletta.

Most of all is directed by Simon Bartolo and performed by Annabelle Galea, Lizzie Eldridge, Miriam Galea and Alasdair Satchel.

The original music composed by Alexander Vella Gregory enhances the mingling atmosphere. The music is performed by Sarah Spiteri on violin and viola, John McDonough on oboe, cor anglais and bassoon, Rebecca Hall on flute and piccolo and Godfrey Mifsud on clarinet.

The performance is created in collaboration with Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh and St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, Valletta. Tickets costing Lm3 and Lm2 for students and senior citizens, are available from St James Cavalier.
