Bank of Valletta has sponsored Prethought, the joint venture of four enthusiastic young artists, who are keen to contribute to the Maltese art scene.
Prethought is being organised by Stephania Borg, Kane Calì, Vanessa Borg and Neil Pace O’Shea. The four artists were or are still following studies at the MCAST Institute of Art & Design and Prethought is the first public exhibition for these four young artists, whose ages range from 19 to 21.
BOV PR and corporate branding head Michael Galea presented the sponsorship to the artists. Speaking at the presentation, he said: “Bank of Valletta is a keen supporter of the local arts and culture. The bank encourages young artists to exhibit their works and share their artistic expression. We are proud to sponsor these upcoming artists who, at a very young age, are making their contribution to Malta’s rich artistic heritage. As a leading patron of arts and culture, BOV encourages the development of artistic talent and supports art in its various forms and expression.”
Stephania Borg, on behalf of Prethought, thanked Bank of Valletta for its support and said that the exhibition was not simply a display of artistic works but a way for the artists to express their beliefs, emotions and thoughts. “The Prethought exhibition explores the notion that, generally, behind every thought, there is a hidden pre-thought which is the true source of inspiration of what is in our minds. This exhibition brings together four different styles from four different people”, Ms Borg concluded.
The Prethought art exhibition will be opened on 8 August at Le Méridien Phoenicia and will remain open to members of the public until 4 September.
