Although the road from Tal-Qlejgha Roundabout close to the Mtarfa Military Cemetery, to Targa Gap has finally been opened, residents of Mtarfa still have some way to go before they can access the town from the newly refurbished roundabouts, The Malta Independent on Sunday can confirm.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Urban Development and Roads told this paper that access to Mtarfa from Ta’ Qali and from the Tal-Qlejgha Roundabout should be available by mid-August. Currently the only access to Mtarfa is through the Saqqaja Road on to Labour Avenue or across the old Royal Engineers Bridge near the Stazzjon Restauarant that is severely in need of resurfacing.
