Dom Mintoff Files judicial protest against Water Services Corporation

Malta Independent Saturday, 30 July 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Former Prime Minister and Labour leader Dom Mintoff filed a judicial protest against the Water Services Corporation in the first hall of the Civil Court earlier this week.

The protest refers to a previous court sitting where the court had been informed that work to rehabilitate and repair Mintoff’s residence, ‘The Olives’, in Tarxien was about to begin.

The judicial protest states that although the work had actually commenced, it had been halted and this situation is causing serious inconvenience to the plaintiff, who is currently without a proper water service as it was polluted after damages sustained to the drainage system and the abusive termination of the water supply by the intimated, in this case, the WSC.

The protest adds that the plaintiff has every right for his residence to be restored to its former state before it suffered the damage caused by the carelessness of the intimated.

Since this is an urgent matter, the judicial protest called on the court to order that work in the property resume immediately and completed in the shortest time possible. It added that ‘The Olives’ should be restored to its original state before the incident.

Dr Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici signed the writ.
