As the 17-year-old girl who was killed on the spot when she was hit by a car on the Mriehel Bypass last Sunday was laid to rest yesterday, her 13-year-old friend was still battling for her life.

Hundreds of people turned up at the funeral of the teenager who was hit by a car while she was crossing the Mriehel Bypass with her friend on Sunday evening. Police sources said the 13-year-old girl was still in critical condition at the St Luke’s Hospital Intensive Therapy Unit.

The girls were hit by a Ford Focus driven by a 23-year-old man.
