A young man pleaded not guilty yesterday to possession of ecstasy, cannabis and cocaine with the intent to traffic on 24 August 2005 in Attard.
Leo Borg, 21, from Attard,was charged with ecstasy, cannabis and cocaine possession found under circumstances suggesting the drugs were not for his personal use. He denied the intent to traffic and also denied charges of forging bank notes, reckless driving and disobeying police orders on the same day.
Mr Borg was allegedly caught carrying around 1,100 ecstasy pills on the day in question. In court yesterday, prosecuting inspectors Norbert Ciappara made the point that Mr Borg had been granted bail in connection with another case earlier this year and that he had breached the conditions imposed on him by the court.
Presiding magistrate Miriam Hayman granted the Mr Borg bail against a Lm2,000 personal guarantee. He was also ordered to pay a Lm1,000 deposit and was put under house arrest.
