Bank of Valletta is supporting the Association of Model Engineers for their annual exhibition being held at the ex-Gasan showroom in Pieta’.

The Association of Model Engineers boasts 85 model enthusiasts. This exhibition is featuring over 100 models including aircraft, figures, marine, cars, trains, military, radio control models and dioramas. Of particular interest is the engineering section with fully working scale models. The association also boasts a fantasy, a space and a fiction section, as well as the very popular wargaming section.

Charles Borg, executive head, CEO’s office at Bank of Valletta, presented the bank’s sponsorship to Joseph Lapira, president of the Association of Model Engineers. Speaking during the presentation, Mr Borg commended the detail, ingenuity and

precision of the models being presented. “This original form of art is yet another artistic initiative supported by Bank of Valletta, as part of its commitment to be the leading patron of arts and culture in Malta,” said Mr Borg.

Mr Lapira thanked Bank of Valletta for its generous support and said: “The members of our association range from teenagers to pensioners, and the annual exhibition brings together newcomers and veterans in this craft. Our members submit kits or models built from scratch with a high level of detail. The general public is invited to visit this annual exhibition which brings together the best modellers on our islands.”

The exhibition is open to the public from 27 September up to 2 October.
