Celebrations In full swing at the Lowenbrau Oktoberfest 2005

Malta Independent Friday, 30 September 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

The Lowenbrau Oktoberfest got off to a great start last night, with brilliant performances by Ira Losco, Miriam Christine, Hooligan, BNI and Beangrowers.

The Oktoberfest Brew was last night’s focus point, being prepared once a year especially for this great festival. The 6.1 per cent Oktoberfest lager is served directly from the Brew House, an experience which beer drinkers can find only at the Oktoberfest. This results in a fresh full-bodied beer, rich in aromas with a balanced composition that makes it a much-awaited favourite with all. People who made their way to the Lowenbrau Brewery last night enjoyed the Oktoberfest brew together with this year’s much-awaited Oktoberfest mugs.

Tonight, in the Main Tent, Claire Agius and the Val Valente resident band will host top local singers Olivia Lewis, Joe Demicoli and Enzo Guzman, while the traditional beer drinking competitions, spot prizes and Bavarian merry-making will make this an evening not to be missed. In the 1565 House of Rock, a more chilled out atmosphere prevails, with tonight’s performers being Frenzy Mono, Hiddensun and Screamdaisy.

Doors are open tonight from 7pm until late at the Lowenbrau Brewery in Qormi, for the second night of the Malta Lowenbrau Oktoberfest 2005.

This year’s Oktoberfest is sponsored by Vodafone Malta.
