New Microscope for forensic lab

The Malta National Laboratory is getting a new scanning electron microscope and energy dispersing X-ray analyser.

It will be used by personnel of the Forensic Laboratory to carry out tests for the presence of gun shot residues, glass, paint and trace material analysis.

There have been four bids to supply this equipment by Tuesday’s deadline.

They were made by Cherubino Limited (Lm139,750), E J Busuttil Limited (Lm125,840), Assing SpA Roma (E260,000), and Marretta Enterprises (E45,100). All prices are exclusive of VAT.
