“Over the years, the Malta Hospice Movement has assisted numerous terminally ill patients, also extending their support to the patient’s family,” James Blake, director of the Global Group said, adding: “the Global Group fully supports this voluntary and deserving organisation and are pleased to assist in their needs.”

Antoinette Shah, representing the Malta Hospice Movement, thanked the Global Group.

“The Malta Hospice Movement are grateful for the Global Group’s generosity. The work carried out by the Hospice, a voluntary organisation which seeks to provide and promote the highest standards of palliative care, is only made possible through donations made by individuals and companies such as the Global Group.”

On Saturday, the Malta Hospice Movement will be joining 500 hospices all over the world to celebrate the 6th World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

The principal aims of this world event are to celebrate the work of hospices and palliative care units around the world and to raise awareness of the universal need for palliative care services.

In Malta, the movement will be celebrating this event by hosting a Raise Your Voice Sacred Music Concert led by St Paul’s Anglican Church Choir together with leading Maltese soloists at St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta.
