As part of the second edition of the Malta Historic Cities Festival organised by the Malta Tourism Authority, a re-enactment by around 150 actors of the building of the monument of the Great Siege Standing in Victory in 1705, will take place in Victory Square, Vittoriosa on Sunday 9 October at 10.30am.
At 8pm on the same day, the MTA will present Birgu By Candlelight, where free guided tours will be held for groups. The tour will include a number of animated scenes, including guards on duty at Couvre Porte and Toni Bajada bringing news from the scene of the battle at Fort St Elmo.
The Birgu local council will also be holding a competition for the best candle-lit street. For more details visit www.maltafestivals.com.
