A second group of 70 irregular Egyptian immigrants have been repatriated according to a Department of Information statement.

Interior Minister Tonio Borg, Foreign Minister Michael Frendo and parliamentary secretary Tony Abela issued a joint press release confirming the repatriation of illegal immigrants.

On Friday night, the second group of 70 Egyptian illegal immigrants were repatriated to Egypt. This group followed a previous group of 70 Egyptian illegal immigrants sent back to Egypt last Monday.

The Egyptian ambassador for Malta, Abdel Karim Soliman and the Egyptian Ministry for Foreign Affairs were publicly thanked for their full collaboration regarding this issue.
