A paper tabled yesterday gave details of the people with humanitarian status and those seeking asylum who are housed in open centres.
The Emigrants Commission is housing 13 people at St Venera (five humanitarian status and eight asylum seekers), 44 at Valletta (23 humanitarian status, 13 refugees and eight asylum seekers), 29 at Floriana (12 humanitarian status, 16 refugees and one asylum seeker), 25 at Msida (seven refugees and 18 humanitarian status), 47 at Guardamangia (24 refugees and 23 humanitarian status), 139 at Balzan (three refugees, 98 humanitarian status and 38 asylum seekers), and five, all refugees, at Marsa.
The police centre at Hal Far is holding 114 people – 98 humanitarian status and 16 asylum seekers.
The Ministry for the Family holds 249 people (227 humanitarian status and 22 asylum seekers) at the Marsa Open Centre. The same ministry holds a further 119 at the open centre in Hal Far (51 humanitarian status and 68 asylum seekers).
And Dar is-Sliem in St Venera is holding 47 underage and unaccompanied asylum seekers.
