Bank of Valletta sponsored the 14th consecutive Annual Cactus and Succulent Exhibition held at the Victory Hall in Naxxar from 28 to 30 October.

BOV Floriana Branch manager Mario Cilia presented the donation to the society’s vice president, Dr F.X. Sammut. Also present was the society’s secretary Rene Zahra.

Speaking at the presentation, Mr Cilia said: “Bank of Valletta is pleased to support this exhibition, which is gaining in popularity year after year. Our support forms part of BOV’s community involvement in support of the

environment.”

He continued: “BOV is aware of its environmental responsibilities and will continue to step up its support of environmental initiatives over the coming year”. He said that the bank’s support seeks to support a growing environmental awareness and the appreciation of the beauty of these interesting plants.

The Cactus and Succulent Society of Malta was formed in 1951 and currently has 120 members.

The objectives of the society are to promote the study, conservation, propagation and cultivation of cacti and other succulent plants.
