An exhibition of fine jewellery and exclusive timepieces will be unveiled on Wednesday by Diamonds International at the Radisson Golden Sands Resort and Spa in Ghajn Tuffieha. The exhibition, Timeless '05, is expected to be a meeting point for the best international jewellers and watchmakers.

“Our intention is to create an event that brings together the best pieces in diamond jewellery, gold, pearls and watches by top designers and brands under one roof,” said Diamonds International director Karl Micallef.

“Timeless has become an annual appointment with our clients and jewellery aficionados who do not need to travel the world to find their favourite piece of jewellery. They can rely on us to bring them the best from the top brands we stock in this one-stop shop.”

About 30 internationally-renowned exhibitors will participate in Timeless. Among the great names are Cartier, Christian Dior, Damiani, Zenith, Mont Blanc, Mikimoto, Franck Muller, Ulysse Nardin, Leo Pizzo and Piaget.

The highlight of the exhibition will be the winner of a Damiani International Award – the equivalent of an Oscar for jewellery – the Piovra, an original, fanciful and unique armlet. The dazzling design is combined with an extraordinary abundance of diamonds: 958 pure gems with a total value of 80.63 carats, crafted in platinum and yellow gold.

A selection of gold and jewellery items from renowned jewellers, as well as custom-made pieces, will also be on display at Timeless.

Along with the jewellery for sale, there are other events scheduled during the exhibition, including the three tenors, Brian Cefai, Joseph Aquilina and Charles Vella Zarb, who will sing throughout the event, and a string quartet who will be providing background music.

The exhibition will be opened on Wednesday by Mrs Kate Gonzi, with a reception for VIP guests.

Timeless is being held in the Radisson Golden Sands’ ballroom between Wednesday and Sunday. It will be open for guests by invitation only on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8.30 pm until late. There will be a reception every night during which guests will have a chance of winning a one-carat diamond.
