Effigy Exhibition

Malta Independent Sunday, 6 November 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Last Sunday saw the opening of Rupert Cefai’s Effigy exhibition at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard. The exhibition was opened by Everest Bartolo with inspiring words about the artist, the art and the human life reflected in the paintings.

Rupert Cefai began his artistic journey as an adolescent under the tutelage of various Maltese masters such as A. Chircop and H. Alden. His art reflects his love of colour and texture, while blending this with his know-ledge of buildings and structures.

The exhibition embodies Rupert’s fascination with the expression of human emotion. His paintings not only illustrate the human effigy but the sentiments and passion that people express in their lives. He has managed to capture both the monotony and enthusiasm of everyday life.

Born in 1971, Rupert is married and

currently lives in Naxxar.

He divides his time between studying, working, painting and spending time with his wife, dog and bird.

The exhibition will remain at the Corinthia Palace until Thursday, when it will move to Del Borgo Wine Bar, Vittoriosa, until 18 December.
