A 6-year-old boy who suffered serious injuries after falling into a pool and finding himself in difficulty has died in hospital, the police said Satuday.

The incident occurred at 2.15pm on 13 May in St Andrew’s Road, in Swieqi.

The 6-year-old Italian boy was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He died on Saturday, the police said.

Magistrate Philip Farrugia Galea is leading an inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
