Vodafone has introduced a special reduced rate for local weekend and off-peak week-day calls between Vodafone numbers for its pre-paid customers. Vodafone to Vodafone calls throughout the weekend and between 8pm and 8am on weekdays will be charged at 12 cents per call irrespective of the length of the call. Vodafone’s pre-paid customers will be able to benefit from the reduced rate from 14 November to 31 January.
“This Christmas, Vodafone is offering its customers the opportunity to talk to friends and loved ones for as long as they like for just 12 cents. For the first time ever in Malta, mobile customers are being charged a flat rate for a call, making Vodafone subscribers the first to be able to talk at leisure without worrying about the cost,” said Vodafone Malta chief commercial officer Paul Bahia.
In order to avail themselves of this offer, Vodafone customers need to send an SMS to 5091-5756 or call 247. The reduced rate will not apply on the following dates: 24, 25 and 31 December 2005 and 1 January 2006. On these dates, customers will be charged as per the usual tariff. This special rate is also available on Family & Friends numbers. Terms and conditions apply.
Further details about this innovative offer can be obtained during a number of promotional events being organised by Vodafone in the coming days. Present at these events will be popular singers Chiara and Ira Losco, who are sponsored by Vodafone. Chiara will be at Vodafone’s retail outlet in Paola between 4pm and 7pm today, and Ira Losco will be at the retail outlet in Birkirkara on Friday between 4pm and 7pm.

Free cinema tickets every Tuesday
Vodafone Malta has joined up with Eden Century Cinemas for a unique promotion during the winter months. All Vodafone customers now have the opportunity of getting a free cinema ticket every Tuesday when buying another cinema ticket in St Julian’s and Fgura. This offer is valid until the end of March.
To benefit from this offer, Vodafone customers must send a blank SMS to 5091-1241. Each SMS costs 2 cents. A Vodafone Tuesdays SMS ticket with a unique code will then be sent to the customer via text message.
This SMS ticket must then be presented at the cinema box office when buying another cinema ticket. The free cinema ticket will be issued for the same film and showing as for the paid cinema ticket.
“Vodafone customers are just one SMS away from being able to get free cinema tickets every Tuesday for the next five months. The cinema is particularly popular in Malta during the winter month, and Vodafone and Eden Century Cinemas have taken care to reduce the cost of movie-going for their customers,” said Vodafone Malta brand manager Alison Bezzina.
Following the success of Vodafone’s Talk for an hour and pay for a minute tariff plan offered to pre-paid clients, Vodafone has launched a special reduced tariff for all its contract clients. A local one-hour call between Vodafone customers will be charged for one minute only. This offer is valid for all contract customers throughout the months of July and August.
“We are now offering all our contract customers the incredible opportunity to talk to friends and loved ones for as long as they like, benefiting from a rate according to the tariff plan they are currently subscribed to,” said Maria Vella-Galea, Business Segment Marketing Manager at Vodafone.
This offer is applicable once the monthly free bundled minutes available on the subscribed tariff plan have been consumed. This offer applies from Monday to Friday between 8pm and 8am and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
