HSBC Gozo has made a financial contribution to the Occupational Therapy Department at Ta’ l-Ibragg Hospital in Gozo.

The donation will go towards a fund-raising activity to purchase a single phase kiln to begin a new venture using clay therapy. The Occupational Therapy Department caters for a number of in-patients and out-patients with psychiatric disorders. It offers daily individual and group therapy sessions which include the teaching of personal and domestic activities and social skills retraining, eventually leading to community reintegration.

Patients are taught how to be responsible for their own belongings and how to be more independent in their own home when they are discharged back into the community.

“HSBC recognises the importance of a having an inclusive society. Such departments are committed to providing the best care for patients who, in turn, find it less hard to reintegrate with society. Through this donation, HSBC Gozo is reinforcing its support for the Gozitan community in which it operates,” said HSBC Gozo Area director Stephen Pandolfino.
