Courtesy Visit to BOV chairman

The president of Microsoft International, Jean-Philippe Courtois, paid a courtesy visit to Bank of Valletta chairman Roderick Chalmers at the bank’s office in Valletta.

During their brief meeting, Mr Chalmers and Mr Courtois exchanged a number of views and opinions related to the bank and its operations in IT development and application. Mr Chalmers outlined Bank of Valletta’s determination to continuously enhance its IT platform in order to better service its wide client base.

Mr Chalmers reiterated that the substantial investment in the development of sound IT infrastructures within the organisation was a major factor that enhanced the bank’s competitivity in a financial services market very much dependant on the delivery of products and services through reliable and secure alternative delivery channels.

Mr Chalmers also referred to a number of recent successes enjoyed by Bank of Valletta namely its involvement as the Official Bank and Sponsor of the Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting.

In his comments, Mr Courtois confirmed Microsoft’s resolve to work closely with Bank of Valletta from a technological perspective to ensure further development of the bank’s IT infrastructure and to explore new opportunities of mutual collaboration.

Mr Courtois also confirmed Microsoft’s commitment to sustain and bring forward its investment in Malta with the aim of ensuring further development of this important sector of the economy.
