New Fellow For FCIB

IFS-Malta Committee member, Peter Calleya has been elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB) in recognition of his academic qualifications, professional achievements, and support to the institute and its role in being a leading provider of financial services education. Anne Kiem announced this from IFS-UK during the annual dinner held by IFS-Malta recently. The governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Michael Bonello, who is also a Fellow of IFS, presented the Fellowship scroll to Mr Calleya.

Mr Calleya has been a member of IFS for almost as long as the 20 years he has been a financial services practitioner. He is presently Manager Corporate Strategy and Research of HSBC Bank Malta. Previous roles have included Marketing Manager – Commercial Banking and Manager Corporate Strategy and EU Affairs.

He is a Chartered Marketer and holds a Masters degree in Marketing and a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management. He is an elected IFS-Malta committee member responsible for PR and marketing, is active in education matters, and is a founding member of its Research Unit.

Mr Calleya has been Chief Examiner on one of the modules of the Institute’s Diploma in Banking & Financial Services for a number of years and has also delivered lectures for university degree courses. He has also given presentations at IFS-Malta organised events and chaired and acted as a rapporteur for numerous conferences and seminars.

He has written and published numerous papers and articles in the areas of marketing, finance, banking, management and on EU issues related to the financial services.
