All of the Hilton Malta’s restaurants were recipients of top awards at a presentation gala dinner organised last week by the publishers of the Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants.

The adjudication was carried out by no fewer than 600 regular diners who eat out at least twice a week, effectively meaning that the awards were based on a minimum of 60,000 dining experiences.

The Hilton’s Blue Elephant and Oceana restaurants were two of the five restaurants rated joint-second overall, while the Blue Elephant was also placed first overall for both service and ambience and was also classified best for romantic dining.

Restaurants that rated highest overall in the different categories were also presented with awards. These included the Hilton’s Gazebo and Bottega del Vino restaurants.

The guide lists the 150 most highly rated of Malta’s 1,000-plus dining venues based on food, service and ambience and the number of satisfied customers responding.

Hilton Malta’s director of sales and marketing, Mario de Celis expressed great satisfaction at the results obtained by the Hilton’s catering establishments: “This is undoubtedly a very important benchmark for us in that all four of our restaurants have been rated by discriminating local diners as being among the very best on the island.

The Blue Elephant and Oceana being rated joint overall second and first overall in other categories is no mean feat either. This bodes very well for the future of our catering establishments and the hard work and attention to detail that the team members have put in, is definitely reaping results.”
