Twenty-two HSBC purchasing managers from 12 different HSBC country operations across Europe gathered in Malta to share best practice on their procurement skills and processes. HSBC Malta was represented by Alex Vassallo, Bobby Engerer and Tony Micallef.

Topics included resolving common issues, negotiation, stimulating competition, contractual protection, managing supplier performance, cross-border purchasing and e-Auctions.

Local HSBC trainers delivered sessions on Team Building and on Negotiation Skills. Tony Micallef, the HSBC Contracts Manager, delivered a session on ‘Group Model Contracts’ while Alex Vassallo, Administration & Procurement Manager, delivered a session on ‘Supplier Spend & Category Spend Analysis’.
