The Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) and the management of Zammit Clapp Hospital have signed a new collective agreement for the staff at the hospital.
Employees will now benefit from salary scales similar to those in the public service and on the basis of the collective agreement for the public service.
New disciplinary procedures have been introduced as well as a “reduced hours” scheme and “pre-retirement leave”.
John M. Briffa and Sandro Rossi signed on behalf of the union, while Professor Frederick Fenech and Joseph Micallef signed for Zammit Clapp Hospital.
