Bank of Valletta and the Maltese-Italian Chamber of Commerce have signed a three-year co-operation agreement, that will see both entities pool their resources and know-how for the benefit of the local business community. Through this agreement, BOV has also been appointed the official banker of the Maltese Italian Chamber of Commerce.

Signing on behalf of Bank of Valletta, Igino Xureb, Chief Officer Operations, affirmed the bank’s support to the local business community with a view to continue to create synergies which add value to the bank’s relationship with its customers. Mr Xuereb explained that the agreement forms part of BOV’s Community Programme directed at supporting the operations of business associations.

John A. Gauci Maistre, president of the Maltese-Italian Chamber of Commerce said the MICC is very proud to have Bank of Valletta as a collaborating partner and, considering the ever-increasing trade opportunities between Malta and Italy, the collaboration between the MICC and BOV will surely bring benefits to both sides. He concluded by thanking BOV for its ongoing support.

The agreement not only sees BOV pledging financial support to the Chamber, but also envisages greater co-operation between the two entities in facilitating trade between Malta and Italy.

In this respect, BOV’s Business Development Department will be working closely with the Maltese Italian Chamber on a number of promotional initiatives aimed at bringing the business communities of the two countries closer together.
