Ian Messina, BSc (Hons) Fin.Serv., ACIB, has been appointed the new manager of Bank of Valletta’s representative offices in Egypt and Tunisia.

The appointment follows the bank’s decision to consolidate operations in its Egypt and Tunisia representative offices under the same management in order to offer wider support to customers who are seeking business opportunities in these two North African countries.

Mr Messina began his career with Bank of Valletta in 1995, performing duties at various branches as well as non-branch units including the Business Development Depart-ment. He is also a member of the Institute of Financial Services.

Through the presence of its representative offices in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia, Bank of Valletta is able to offer a value-added service to entrepreneurs and, in fact, one of the prime functions of these offices is to facilitate trade between Maltese and overseas businesses. The offices also serve to strengthen the relationship between the bank and overseas financial institutions.

BOV’s vision of being a niche player in the Euro-Mediterranean region will be further strengthened with this setup and the bank will now be in a better position to provide tailor-made financial solutions for its customers. Malta’s role as an important hub to service the Euro-Mediterranean region will also continue to feature highly on the agenda of the representative offices in this region, which also include offices in Tripoli and Milan.

The Egypt representative office is located at Office No 71, 7th Floor, 7 Midan El Thawra Street, Mohandessin, Giza, Cairo and may be contacted on telephone number 202-3383543 and email on [email protected]. Contact can also be made through BOV’s Product and Business Development Department, which can be contacted on telephone numbers 2275-3644 and 2275-3646, fax number 2275-3647 and by e-mail on [email protected].
