HSBC Is best for borrowers – poll

Malta Independent Saturday, 4 February 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Following its success in a Euroweek poll among leading bond market investment banks on the top deals finalised in 2005, HSBC has again come out on top in a new poll on the best banks among institutional borrowers.

The new survey from Euroweek – a Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC publication, which covers all the latest developments in the bond markets – rated HSBC number one for “Most competitive and aggressive on pricing”, number two for “Most impressive bank in sterling” and number three for “Most improved bank”.

“It has certainly been a week of good news from Euroweek regarding HSBC’s performance in 2005. First, we came top in a survey on which highlighted our technical ability to handle large scale, innovative deals such as the 50-year term maturity issued by the French government,” said HSBC Bank Malta’s head of treasury, Mr Charles J Farrugia.

“Now, we have also come out as one of the leading banks for organisations looking to borrow money. Excellent products and excellent service – that’s what HSBC is about – wherever we operate and whoever the customer is,” he said.
